We were expecting our first child in June and began interviewing prospective Doulas in March. We had telephone interviewed approximately 10 candidates and choose three to meet in person. Upon meeting Joan, we knew our search was over. Joan was such a caring, loving, compassionate, organized person whom we were comfortable with immediately. We hired Joan on the spot. As my husband and I are extremely busy people, Joan kept us organized with her constant follow up and “friendly reminders”, we truly valued and appreciated. After our son was born, we hired Joan for a period of three months. Joan tended to our son nightly from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. She showed up promptly for work each night, looked after our son with so much love and care and gave us valuable, useful information on tending to our newborn. She is a highly energetic, organized, reliable individual who our son loves. Joan takes great pride in her work and is constantly updating us on the latest techniques of caring for a newborn. We highly recommend Joan, as she is the consummate professional. She has become an extended part of our family.
